About NorthCliff Cycles

Alex Pavlov began his cycling career in early 1999.
Quickly Alex realised his love of the sport and began competing seriously. Alex is a highly accomplished local and international rider that has represented South Africa in Road Tours and World Champs. He has represented teams such as Finish Line Cycles (1999 - 2001), Minolta (2002 - 2003), HSBC (2004) and Team Hi Q (2005 - 2007) as well as representing South Africa on the National Team numerous times in Egypt, Senegal and China. The highest achievements Alex managed to achieve was winning the African Continental Time Trail championship in 2001 and 2005.

In 2007 Alex began importing Carbon fibre wheels (Edge and Pro-Lite), to make some funds on the side while still cycling professionally and that's where the idea of opening a Bicycle shop came from. With the help of friends and fellow shop owners - Alex opened Northcliff Cycles in the Heathway Square shopping centre in October 2007.

With minimal stock and only 4 employees including himself, the shop quickly grew and expanded in stock as well as customers. Training rides open to anyone keen to ride from the shop on Saturday and Sunday mornings, as well as the friendly service and longer trading hours incl. Sundays proved to be extremely beneficial to Northcliff Cycles as this only attracted more business. Soon, the premises of Northcliff Cycles original shop proved to be too small to trade with stock expanding rapidly - Alex and the team decided to relocate to a premises over double in size to the first shop, and officially re opened the new Northcliff cycles in March 2009 at the bottom of the same shopping centre in Northcliff.

Northcliff Cycles have a highly skiled team of mechanics and salesmen.
